Alpha Supported Living Services is a nonprofit agency providing supported living, group home, and community access services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities living in homes in King and Snohomish Counties.
Alpha was founded in 1974 by parents of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities looking for an alternative to state institutionalization for their children. At the time, new models for services were just beginning; they named the first home after the first letter in the Greek alphabet in the hope that many similar homes would follow.
Since that first home on Queen Anne, Alpha has expanded services to others wishing to receive community services. Over the years, Alpha has merged with similar agencies to become the largest nonprofit provider of supported living in the state.
The mission of Alpha Supported Living Services is to serve individuals with developmental disabilities by providing residential and community services that maximize each person’s quality of life.
We accomplish our mission by:
- Treating each client with dignity, respect, and full consideration of individuality and civil and human rights.
- Recognizing our staff members’ abilities and enhancing their growth and professional skills.
- Working Cooperatively with other individuals and organizations that share our goals.
- Developing broad-based sources of support to maintain financial stability.
