It is with excitement and immense gratitude that we say thank you to the Kuni Foundation for funding Alpha’s Inclusion Housing Affordable I/DD Housing Project. The project involves acquiring and renovating 10 single family homes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout King, Snohomish, and Spokane counties. Over the last five years, our agency has grown by over 10 new Supported Living individuals per year. The demand for stable and affordable housing for the individuals we serve is a difficult issue to address, but with the funding received from the Kuni Foundation, we will be able to make significant headway toward addressing that issue. We are so grateful for the Kuni Foundation’s continued support and recognition of the value of our work.
Based in Vancouver, Washington, The Kuni Foundation strives to increase affordable, accessible, community-based housing options for people with IDD through grantmaking and the support of advocacy. For more information, please visit their website at: https://www.kunifoundation.org/
We enjoyed another year of Giving Through Song at Block 41 on October 21st. The stunning venue is always a delight that supports our event so well. It was a fun, full evening with music from Seattle’s Blue Wave Band, photobooth fun from Tipsy-Trailer LLC, and a tasteful meal provided by Cameron Catering. It was great to see so many people got into this year’s theme of “Mad Men”/1960’s!
The evening also was beneficial to Alpha as we were able to raise the funds necessary to keep us moving toward our goals. We are so grateful to the community that continually supports the mission and vison of Alpha. Every year is full of new challenges that we must face and we would not be able to do so without your support!
It’s time to register for this year’s Giving Through Song Gala! We are going to be back at Block 41 on October 21st. Join us for an evening of entertainment to celebrate Alpha SLS. Get your seat today!
We are excited to announce that Alpha has been awarded a grant for 2023 from the Kuni Foundation that will go towards renovating and preserving our existing agency-owned homes and expanding home accessibility for more clients experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are so grateful for the Kuni Foundation’s continued support and recognition of the value of our work.
The Kuni Foundation is based out of Southwest Washington. One of their main goals is to increase housing options for people experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities. Alpha is excited to partner with TWG – an Indiana-based real estate developer – in their first affordable housing project in King County. They will begin construction in Shoreline of a 7-story building with 250 units called 192 Shoreline. The project is slated to begin in late 2021.
Alpha will have designated apartment units within the building for clients needing affordable housing in Shoreline, as well as a community facility space within the housing complex. The facility will allow us to reach more individuals and continue our vision of an inclusive community.
